| OCTOBER 2011 |
Rafa and I flew out to
Michigan to the Regional and National Specialty. Rafa finishes his Grand
Champion with 5 majors, with the last being his Select Dog award at the
Regional with over 300 Malamutes entered! Special Thanks to Breeder Judge,
Robin Hug for this wonderful win! Big Congrats to all the winners this
week and huge thanks to our great friends Chris Hibner and her boy Slate
(Ch Yukonjak's Slate) for a fun filled week! |
| AUGUST 2011 |
We went to Enumclaw, WA for
the Specialty and All Breed Shows with Rafa. What a fun trip! With
about 40 Mal's entered, Rafa goes Best Opposite Sex under Judge Ms. Wendy
Sorrell at the
Specialty Friday, and takes Best of Breed under Judge Ms. Maryl Foster on
Sunday. Our
sincere appreciation to these judges for recognizing Rafa and for these

We went to Ventura for the
Specialty weekend. We weren't able to make the actual specialty, but did
the Saturday / Sunday, supported all breed show. Sunday, we had a
very good day!!
Steffi - (didn't want to be outdone by her brother who finished a couple
weeks before) goes BOW for a 5 point Major to finish her Championship!
That made 3 majors in a row for her!
This was Rafa's first weekend out as Special. He won Select dog over
many, nice, ranked specials for a Major towards his Grand
Championship. |

Woofstock Cluster -
Rafa gets BOW and Steffi gets WB Friday and Saturday for back to back
Majors for each of them. Rafa is now CHAMPION Ootek's Game On... |
| October 2010 |
Chris and I go to the AMCA
Regional and National Specialty in Colorado with Sampson and Rafa. We get
to see most of the top dogs in the country, see old friends and meet some
new ones.
At the Regional, Sampson takes an Award of Merit under Judge Jean
Fournier. Rafa, at only 9 months old, gets 3rd in a huge bred by class.
(Not sure what i was thinking putting a puppy in BBE at that level of
competition!!) Rafa wins the 6-9 class for Regional Sweeps and Futurity.
Missy and I do our final 10 mile hike with Chris
Hibner and Slate and Debbie H with Ikkuma for all of them to complete
their Working Pack Dog Titles!

We have officially moved to the new
property. Note new phone # in the footer of each page. It's been crazy
with pups and moving, etc so we had no time to do as many pix of the pups
growing up as we would usually do. They're all doing great and getting
ready for new homes. |

The puppies are here!! All 9 of
them...whew!! that was a long night but Mom and babies are doing well. We
have 6 girls and 3 boys!! We are soo thankful everything went well!!
They are all gray / whites. Will
post pictures in a few days!!

Missy's pregnancy confirmed today and
puppies are due approx 2/14/10. We are excited to see what this litter

I took one look and
"insisted" (ok, pleaded) to my friend Margaret that she let me
show her gorgeous boy Sampson.
Well, here we are, only a few months and a total of 6 weekend shows later
and Sampson has finished his CH with 5 majors!! He won a 3 point major his
very first time in the ring! Next, was a 5 point major, Best of
Breed win from the classes (over 7 specials)! We decided to try the
"big show" at Long Beach on 12/11 & 12/13 for the Eukanuba
Classic where he went BOW Friday at the all breed show and went WD at the
Specialty /Eukanuba Classic to finish his CH! Undeniable breed type, rock
solid temperament and absolutely exquisite movement . I LOVE this dog!!

Sampson). Not our best photo, but we both had a bit of nervous energy going

We headed up to the Canadian Alaskan
Malamute National and associated 4 all breed shows. In the 5 shows, Missy
was 1st in the Bred By class each show, took Reserve WB in 2 shows and was
Winners Bitch the other 3 shows. She now needs just 2 points to finish her
Canadian CH. It was a beautiful show!
Thanks to Mary Jane Holabach for making the drive up with us (and for all
that help ringside! ) |

Missy is now CHAMPION Ootek's Start Me
Up!!! At the Rocky Mountain Area Alaskan Malamute Specialty on Friday
5-15, Missy goes BOW for a 5 point major under Judge Ron Menaker.
Saturday she takes another 5 point major, going WB at the Mount Ogden
Kennel Club under Christina Hubbel. Big thanks to Debbie Hunyada for
driving out with us. Her gorgeous redhead "Ikkuma" took
BOS on Saturday too!!

After a 10.5 mile hike with with her
pack on, Missy earns the 1st leg towards her Working Pack Dog Title! It
was a beautiful trail on a gorgeous day, but we ARE a little
tired. Thanks to Craig who has been Missy's training partner and Helen for

Well....MY plan was to do a bunch of dog shows over the next
few months....Missy thought blowing her coat so we could just go
snow-shoeing and hiking was a better plan. Guess
who won? We'll be back out in a few months! |

Pups go to their new homes. Everyone is adjusting well
and those cute little fur-balls are busy wrapping their new owners around
their paws.
Missy LOVES Kya's babies...I think she wants a few of her own :-).
Scamp wishes we would go to a smaller breed. He is such a push over it wouldn't
